Nothing beats a good old trip down memory lane, right? At least that’s what Olly Murs must’ve thought today, as he’s been spending the afternoon reminiscing over on his Twitter. On the anniversary of his first X Factor audition, the singer tweeted his thanks to Simon Cowell and The X Factor.

Murs ended as the runner-up in the sixth series of The X Factor and has had a rather successful career ever since, with his debut album Olly Murs entering the UK charts at number 2 and his second, third and fourth album all debuting at number 1.

But the singer clearly hasn’t forgotten where it all began and who’s to thank for his breakthrough. Besides Simon Cowell and The X Factor, Murs also had some kind words for his fans.

And that wasn’t all – this little trip down memory lane got Mr. Murs all excited and he couldn’t stop himself from promising new music “very very very very very soon”. During the Never Been Better tour last year, the singer repeatedly hinted that a fifth album was in the works and now it seems that we’ll be hearing some new tunes sooner rather than later.
